Deactivating or Deleting Users

Learn how to deactivate or delete users from Vivery and when to use each

Deactivating a user preserves the user within the system while inhibiting their access to the platform. Deleting a user removes them from the platform permanently. Deactivated users can be reactivated at any time, while deleted users cannot.

For example, you can delete a user if they no longer work at a specific agency. Or you can deactivate a user if they are on temporary leave and will need to be reactivated upon return.

Deactivating a User

Deactivating a user entirely removes their access to the Vivery platform. They will no longer have access to any organizations or networks and will no longer be able to log in. The user can be reactivated at any time by another organization administrator, network administrator, or Vivery staff.

To deactivate a user, click User Management in the left navigation menu. This opens the List of Users page.

Find the name in the list of users by scrolling or searching for the name in the search bar on the upper left corner of the page. In the row for the desired user, click the List icon on the right side, then click Edit User.

The Edit User pop-up will appear. At the bottom of the window near the Save button, click Deactivate User.

Clicking Deactivate User opens an alert where you can confirm this user's deactivation. To proceed, click Deactivate. The user will receive an email notifying them of the deactivation. If you do not want to deactivate the user, click Cancel.

Follow the same steps to reactivate a deactivated user. In the alert, instead of Deactivate User, you can click Reactivate User (or click Cancel).

Deleting a User

To delete a user, click User Management in the left navigation menu. This opens the List of Users page.

Find the name in the list of users by scrolling or searching for the name in the search bar on the upper left corner of the page. Click the List icon on the right side in the user’s row, and click Delete User.

If there is a chance this user will need access in the future, click Deactivate User. To permanently delete the user, click Delete.
