If a program is designed to cater to a specific audience or demographic, that can be indicated on map listings. While this is not used for a filter, this can guide people to services that suit their needs, while avoiding programs for which they don’t qualify.
Program Audiences may include veterans, families, people in the LGTBQIA+ community, people who experience disabilities, and more. Program Audiences can be listed as open to only a given audience, open to everyone with a focus on a specific audience, or open to everyone.
To designate a Program Audience, click Locations in the left navigation menu. Type the name of a location in the Search… text area, then select the location by clicking its name.

This opens the Location Details page. At the top of the page, click the Programs tab next to the Location Details tab.

On the Programs page, scroll to the correct program, then locate the Program Audience section and click the Edit icon.

In the Program Audience pop-up window, select the audience in the Program Open To field. There are three options:
-
Everyone: This means that the program is open to everyone and does not have programming specified to any individual demographic.
-
Everyone, with a focus on these groups: This means that the program will serve everyone, but specializes in the service of a certain group. For example, an agency who serves the general public but has extra resources for people who are unhoused may choose this option.
- Only these groups: This means that this program is designed specifically for a certain group and does not serve the general public. For example, a program that specifically delivers food to people that are homebound would choose this option.

If Everyone is selected, no further action is needed. Click Save Changes.
If Everyone, with a focus on these groups, or Only these groups is selected, a list of audiences appears. You can select one or many audiences by clicking the checkbox next to them.
If a Program Audience is not described by any of these options, you can select Other and enter one in the Special Notes text area, along with notes to clarify the audience. Format text with the bold, italic, underlined, and hyperlink buttons as necessary.
Click Save Changes when finished.
